Federico’s Design Jewelers Featured in National Magazine.
The nationally published jewelry industry magazine, InDesign, is devoted to highlighting some of the most successful jewelers across the country. It's a new offshoot of InStore magazine, one of the most well-read of all the jewelry industry publications. InDesign seeks to showcase the best of the industry and it has a select group that it calls, “America’s Finest Jewelers,” who make up a panel of experts that contributes ideas and participates in various features in the magazine.
Federico’s Design Jewelers, and its owner and President, George Wildman, are honored to be part of such a prestigious group, and in the March 2008 issue of InDesign, the 21-year old downtown Traverse City, full-service jewelry store is featured in an article dealing with store design. In “Liquid Refreshment,” InDesign showcases four jewelers from across the country that use water as a design element in their stores. The diamond-shaped, black granite fountain that greets visitors as they enter the Front Street store has been a conversation piece since May of 2003 when Federico’s Design Jewelers purchased the landmark building located on the corner of Front and Cass and opened their new doors to the public.
As quoted in the article, by owner, George Wildman, “the fountain acts as a magnet, drawing passers-by into the store. The black granite works well with the marble entranceway and the juxtaposition of sleek and warm elements that characterize our interior.”
This is not the first time Federico’s Design Jeweler's has been cited in a national publication. In April of 2007, Harper’s Bazaar released a list of 124 jewelers that were chosen as “The Best” in the United States, four of whom hailed from Michigan, including Traverse City’s own, Federico’s Design Jewelers. Since that issue, Harper’s Bazaar has run the feature three more times. States Karen Johnson, General Manager of the downtown jewelry store, “each time the “Jewelry Leaders” feature runs, we receive numerous congratulatory remarks, not only from our clients but from the business community, as well. National recognition like that really serves as an indicator that we’re doing at least a few things right!”
